Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey get WrestleMania title matches on WWE Raw – DigitalSpy.com

Note: This article contains full show match results from WWE Monday Night Raw from the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona which aired on Monday, January 29, 2019.

While Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey, Daniel Bryan and Asuka all out of Royal Rumble 2019 with their championship reigns intact, the Rumble matches gave us two fiery challengers.

And in these brand split times, the winners can pick either the Raw or SmackDown titles for their WrestleMania matches, so Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch did us all on tenterhooks.

Read on for six things we learned from Monday Night Raw, including the two will be facing in New Jersey.

1. Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar is set for WrestleMania 35 (and is already being billed as a main event)

Despite bigger hitters like Braun Strowman (and Nia Jax) standing in his way, Seth Rollins persevered to win the 2019 Royal Rumble.

But would he challenge Brock Lesnar here on Monday Night Raw, or was this the opportunity to switch things up and take on Daniel Bryan?

Initially, Seth looked like he was going to keep us guessing, but that was before Triple H insisted The Architect made his decision before the end of the night (Trips does not like surprises, it seems).

First though, there was the small matter of his ongoing feud with Dean Ambrose, which bubbled disappointingly about Christmas.

It seems that he was put to the end (for now at least), with Rollins putting away his former Shield brother at the start of the show.

And in the closing segment, Seth Rollins interrupted Paul Heyman (no!) To go toe-to-toe with The Beast, and not one, not two, not four, not five, but SIX F-5s to close out the show.

The card, as we know, is always subject to change, it's Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35 and the WWE is already calling it a Mania Main Event.

2. Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch is set for WrestleMania 35 (and it should be the main event)

A lot can happen between now and April, and while we're very much up for Lesnar / Rollins, we do not want it to top the card.

Instead, this is the match that should not happen in New Jersey.

Despite being the standard bearer for Team Blue, Becky Lynch only has one thing in the sights after winning the Royal Rumble: Ronda Rousey.

Rousey has been a revelation since her debut after last year's Rumble and subsequent WrestleMania debut.

She went on to win the Raw title and has not really looked close to losing it since.

For her part, Becky Lynch only hero the SmackDown for a few months, but before, during and after her reign she has undoubtedly leg The man not only of the Blue Brand but the whole damn company.

And ever since Lynch stormed Raw before Survivor and Rousey, this one has been brewing.

Their one-to-one was skipped after Nia Jax's broke Becky's face in that altercation, and while Charlotte Flair did a violently passable job as Becky's second in November, this is the one we've been waiting for.

The Champ vs The Man. This absolutely should be the main event of WrestleMania 35 and would be the most (R) Evolutionary moment in recent WWE history.

3. Bayley (and Sasha Banks) must join forces and get in on that Tag Team action fast

While Becky Lynch (and Seth Rollins) have their WrestleMania status locked in, it's not actually certain that Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar will be their opponents.

Winning the Royal Rumble gets your ticket stamped for the Showcase of the Immortals, but if you're the champ champion, your status is less secure, especially if you keep putting your belt up for grabs.

We've got over two months of WWETV (and two PPVs, too), which could see any of our four main WWE champions deposed before WrestleMania itself.

That was highlighted by last night's open challenge from Ronda Rousey, where she put her call and her (possible WrestleMania main event) on the line and Bayley answered the call.

The Huggable One had a valiant effort, but like her best at Sasha Banks at the weekend, she did not have the ability to cross the Rowdy One.

With WWE Women's Tag Team titles, it feels like it's time for Sasha and Bayley to pick them up and make sure they're in the mix at Elimination Chamber.

4. Nia Jax & Tamina and Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan are in the WWE Elimination Chamber for the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles

Bayley and Sasha will have their skates on, as there's only ONE Raw spot left in that six-team match at WWE Elimination Chamber 2019.

Two of the three Team Red places have already been snaffled after a couple of quick qualifiers yesterday and tag team continuity was the winner in both cases.

While Alexa Bliss and Mickie James have tagged together in the past, Nia Jax and Tamina and their bullied their way to a win.

Nia was one of the biggest stories coming from the Rumble, having fought in both Men's and Women's match.

She was the fourth woman at the Men's Royal Rumble was established since the Women's Rumble had been established.

The controversy was not just because of the intergender in-ring action or Nia depriving R-Truth or a spot, but because Jax herself is a divisive character, but for all Rumble antics we'll always be fans of the Irresistible Force here at DSWWE.

The other spot was grabbed by Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan, who put away an impromptu team or Natalya and Dana Brooke.

Ruby Riott opted to let go take on this challenge, and was equally happy at the ringside causing problems (and interference) for the Brooke / Hart duo.

The Riott Matriarch ended up making the crucial difference, and now we'll look to SmackDown tonight to add some more names into the mix.

5. Finn Bálor has to be WWE Universal Championship dreams for now and focus elsewhere.

Seth vs Brock. Ronda vs Becky. Those two matches are set * (* yes, yes, card subject to change), but that leaves a load of massive Raw superstars with nothing to do in New Jersey.

Finn Bálor missed out on his chance to finally regain his WWE Universal Championship, and short of winning a pre-Mania rematch that would take him on a collision course with Seth Rollins.

But perhaps he has other gold in his sights. WWE Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley and his hype man Lio Rush decided to have some fun at Bálor's expense, and while the Irishman did not know what to do in the inevitable altercation.

Whether or not in April, Lashley vs. Bálor for the WWE Intercontinental Championship seems to be no match against Finn holding that calling after WrestleMania.

6. There are some MASSIVE names with nothing to do (yet) at WrestleMania 35

Two men who were among the Royal Rumble favorites but who were short fell Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman.

Their battle last night was interrupted by Baron Corbin who, over Kurt Angle helped the Scot administer a beatdown to the Monster Among Men.

It is not impossible that anyone in the world will contend between now and April, but Brock Lesnar or Seth Rollins will let that happen.

So what will this quartet be doing in New Jersey?

Maybe they'll look to jump over to Team Blue and seek out Daniel Bryan?

Maybe they'll look to Bobby Lashley (and Finn Bálor) and try to get involved in the WWE Intercontinental Championship battle?

The Revival and the rekindled Zack Ryder / Curtis Hawkins and their own chances at challenging AoP for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships?

Strowman won the belts with a school at last year's Mania, so surely if Drew and Braun put aside their differences, could they rule the division?

And we've not got to the likes of John Cena (injured, but for how long), The Undertaker (unretired after last year's big win) or Triple H just yet.

While we've got a couple or marquee matches set, there's still plenty of build and intrigue to come over the next week on the Road to WrestleMania.
