NEW YORK (AP) – R & B singer H.E.R. gave a next-level performance, sister duo Chloe x Halle matched the grandeur of their recent Super Bowl performance and pop singer Bebe Rexha caught the crowd when she did not sing along with her monster hits.

The female acts, nominated for the best new artist in the Grammy & # 39; s, played on Spotify's pre-Grammy event in honor of newcomers.

Rexha was fiery during her performance of "Meant to Be", her record-breaking hit with the country duo Florida Georgia Line. When the crowd from the music industry did not sing it to her at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, she went ballistic, including f-bombs.

"This number was # 1 for 50 (expletive) weeks," she said after she told her band to stop the performance. "I also work hard (expletive) for this (expletive), OK?"

Rexha then looked at her mother and said, "My mother is like:" please calm down. "I love your mother, I calm down. & # 39;

"Intended to be" set a record last year when it spent a historic 50 consecutive weeks at the top of Billboard's Hot Country song hit. It reached a highlight at number 2 in the Hot 100 hit list of the genre and was nominated for the best country duo / group performance during Sunday's Grammy's, making Florida Georgia Line their very first Grammy nomination.

"I've worked too hard for this moment, I'm from Staten Island, New York, and I'm on this platform," shouted the 29-year-old Rexha, who wrote to Eminem and Rihanna's Grammy-winning hit from 2013, "The Monster".

"You will sing the (expletive) words if you know the (expletive) song."

Rexha's second attempt at the song was more audience participation. Other singers had it easier on Thursday evening.

The British singer Dua Lipa started the multi-hour event with cheerful hits such as "New Rules" and "IDGAF," which caused some of the audience members to dance; Margo Price, who is six months pregnant, strummed her guitar and sang passionately; and fans hurried to the stage for the English singer Jorja Smith, who had a lounge-y feeling.

Chloe x Halle, who & # 39; America the Beautiful & # 39; sang in Super Bowl 53, was of the party alongside a 10-piece band while they released songs from their major-label debut album & The Kids Are Alright & # 39; names. It is nominated for the best urban contemporary album, for which they will compete with their mentor Beyonce.
