Elton John is catching up on his concerts in Hamburg after a three-year delay. These are probably the last appearances of the world star.
Hamburg. After more than 50 years in show business, the time has come: Sir Elton John would like to hang up his microphone and in future only go to the piano for husband and children. But before it gets that far, the British superstar says goodbye with a farewell tour from his fans around the world.
In addition to stopovers in his native England, North America and New Zealand, there is now the Barclays Arena in Hamburg as a stopover „Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour 2023“ at. From Tuesday to Friday Elton John will give three concerts here.
Elton John had to wait three years for his farewell tour
The fans had to have a lot of patience until they probably saw Elton John live on stage for the last time. Because the “Rocket Man” interpreter had already announced his big farewell in 2019, the concerts in Hamburg were actually planned for September 2020.
But the corona pandemic did not stop at Elton John’s farewell plans. The dates were rescheduled three times. So fans already know what they can expect from the Hamburg version of the “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour”. Because the 76-year-old was still able to play a concert in Germany before the outbreak of the pandemic – in Munich.

But despite the long wait, those who are undecided still have the opportunity to get tickets. There are remaining tickets available both at eventim and at the ticket shop of the city of Hamburg.
But you have to put a lot of money on the table for them. The prices for last-minute tickets for the Elton John concert on Tuesday evening start at more than 300 euros. Unless you take a seat from which you explicitly cannot see everything. The “visually impaired” seats only cost a little more than 60 euros.
