Egyptian tourism recorded an exceptional and unprecedented performance during the year 2025, as Egypt received about 19 million tourists, achieving a new record with a growth rate of 21% compared to 2024, in an achievement that reflects the growing strength of the Egyptian tourist destination on the international scene.
During the year 2025, Cairo, Hurghada, Sharm El-Sheikh, and Marsa Alam airports topped the list of airports receiving the most tourists during the year 2025, which reflects the geographical diversity of Egyptian tourist destinations and their ability to attract different segments of tourists from multiple markets. It also confirms the success of the Egyptian state’s efforts to develop tourism infrastructure and airports, and improve the level of services provided.
Archaeological sites and museums nationwide witnessed a growth in the number of visits by foreign tourists, as all of them, except for the Museums of Civilization and the Grand Museum, received 18.6 million tourists, with a growth rate of 33.5% compared to 2024.
The year 2025 also witnessed a remarkable growth in tourist (charter) flights by 32%, while the city of New Alamein achieved an exceptional leap, recording a 450% growth in charter flight traffic, making it one of the most prominent new tourist destinations on the international tourism map.
During the year 2025, tourist flights were operated from 193 cities around the world to various Egyptian tourist destinations, in a clear indication of the expansion of the international aviation network and the increased demand for visiting Egypt.
