Jakarta –
The Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP) said that the husband of the woman with the initials DS, recipient of a viral scholarship who stated “it’s enough that I’m an Indonesian citizen, don’t have children” hasn’t finished his studies. It turns out that the husband with the initials AP is also an LPDP scholarship recipient.
This was revealed through an Instagram story shared by the Instagram account @lpdp_ri, Friday (20/2/2026). LPDP said that it would summon AP.
“Regarding Sister DS’s husband, Brother AP, who has also attracted public attention and is an LPDP alumnus, it is suspected that he has not completed his contribution obligations after completing his studies,” he wrote in the post.

“LPDP is currently conducting an internal investigation regarding these allegations. LPDP is currently calling Brother AP to ask for clarification,” he added.
LPDP also confirmed that it would impose sanctions on AP if contributions to the program were not met. LPDP also emphasized that it would treat all scholarship recipients fairly.
“And there will be a process of taking action and imposing sanctions up to the return of all scholarship funds if it is proven that the obligation to contribute to Indonesia has not been fulfilled,” he said.
“LPDP is committed to enforcing the rules fairly, consistently and responsibly to all awardees and alumni, as well as continuing to maintain the integrity of the institution in providing maximum benefits for Indonesia,” he added.
It is known that the viral video was uploaded by a woman who owns the Instagram account @sasetyaningtyas. In the video, he is shown opening a package he had been waiting for. It contained a letter from the British Home Office.
The letter stated that the account owner’s second child had officially become a British citizen. The woman also showed the British passport that came with the letter.
“This package is not just any package, its contents are a very important document that will change the fate and future of my children, let’s open it,” he said.
“This is a letter from the British Home Office stating that my second child has been accepted as a British citizen,” he continued.
He then said that in the future his children would seek foreign citizenship.
“I know the world seems unfair “But it’s enough for me to be an Indonesian citizen, not my children, we’re trying to get children with strong foreign passports,” he said.
LPDP Open Voice
LPDP regrets this polemic. The woman with the initials DS was considered not to reflect the value of integrity.
“LPDP regrets the polemic on social media that was triggered by the actions of one of the alumni, Sister DS. This action does not reflect the values of integrity, ethics and professionalism that LPDP instills in all scholarship recipients,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, her husband, who is also an LPDP awardee, is suspected of not completing his contribution. They are known to have settled in England.
“In accordance with the provisions, all LPDP awardees and alumni have an obligation to carry out a period of service to contribute to Indonesia for 2 study periods + 1 year,” he said.
“In the case of Sister DS who studied for two years, the contribution obligation is five years,” he added.
LPDP confirmed that DS was no longer related to the party because he had completed his studies in August 2017.
“Sister DS has completed her master’s studies and was declared graduated on August 31 2017, and has completed the entire period of service in accordance with the provisions. Thus, LPDP no longer has any legal ties with the person concerned,” he said.
“Nevertheless, LPDP will continue to try to communicate with Sister DS to urge her to be wiser in using social media, pay attention to public sensitivity, and understand that LPDP scholarship recipients have a national obligation to serve the country,” he added.
