A spokesperson for the zoo expressed great joy, noting that the baby’s parents, shy mom Ahsoka and charismatic dad Moteck, initially did not get along.

Head keeper Gemma Romanis stated, “After some perseverance, they’ve worked things out, and the result has been the birth of a wonderful new infant.”

About Sulawesi Crested Macaques

Originating from Indonesia, these macaques are known for their striking features: jet-black hair, amber eyes, and bright pink rear ends.

“We are proud to contribute to the survival of this magnificent primate and prevent its extinction,” Romanis concluded.
