Great news awaited Taylor Swift’s American fans at the end of August. They discovered on Thursday that a film-concert from his Eras Tour was going to be screened at the cinema this fall. “The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful and electric experience of my life so far and I’m thrilled to tell you that it will be hitting the big screen soon. From October 13, you will be able to discover the film-concert in cinemas across North America! Tickets are on sale now (…) Period dress, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged”announced the interpreter of Blank Space.
This film-concert will allow fans to (re)live the crazy atmosphere of this tour that started last March in the United States. But how did the singer’s team manage to produce and promote such a film when a double strike (screenwriters and actors) completely paralyzes the Hollywood industry?
A special deal for Taylor Swift
According to Billboard Magazine, this recording bringing together images of three concerts organized in Los Angeles at the beginning of August, was able to benefit from a special device from the powerful SAG-AFTRA (the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, the union of entertainment professionals and medias). The latter has in fact put in place a temporary agreement to allow projects not affiliated with the AMPTP, the association bringing together 350 small and big screen production companies, to be able to see the light of day during this strike. With the only condition that these achievements respect the same criteria as those followed by the members of the union.
