Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche was born in Bhutan in 1961, the son of Tinley Norbu Rinpoche and a shut disciple of Nyingma Expert Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche (1910-91).He is regarded as the 3rd incarnation of Tibetans in the 19th century Terton Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo (1820-1892), founder of the Khyentse lineage, the immediate reincarnation of Jamyang Khyentse Chokyi Lodro (1893-1959).
