Delinquency. Mélenchon defends himself from any “angelism” and advocates “efficiency”

The leader of the rebels Jean-Luc Mélenchon this Monday, September 14 forbade everything angelism about delinquency and unfolded its conception of security policy, based onefficiency prevention, unlike that of the Minister of the Interior.

The controversial remarks of Gérald Darmanin concerning the supposed existence of an “ensauvagement” of French society led the organization by France rebelliouse of a security symposium on Monday at the Latin America House.

“Change of foot”

Jean-Luc Mélenchon spoke for an hour after the speeches of LFI deputies Ugo Bernalicis and Danièle Obono, then several experts (sociologist, police officer, CNRS researcher, head of Amnesty international, lawyer).

We spent all these years wanting to resist this push that was going on in the public debate about security, said the boss of rebellious deputies. He claimed a change of foot and called on LFI to take up a speech on the subject.

On the one hand, we opposed the angelics that we would be, as if we had a secret taste for delinquents, and the realists in successive governments, or we are the realists, he claimed.

In 30 years, I have seen 16 laws on terrorism, 21 laws on immigration, and 32 laws against delinquency passed, he listed.

We therefore conclude to the ineffectiveness and the total uselessness of the policies conducted so far., added Mr. Mélenchon.

He criticized the repressive policy on drug users driven by Gérald Darmanin, who in his eyes distracts the police from the tasks for which they were trained, while police interventions are already devoted to 56% to the fight against smoking.

For the legalization of cannabis

If we want to fight excessive consumption like alcohol, then we must legalize cannabis, he argued.

Wider, a rebellious government or with rebellious people would completely overhaul the national police, by dissolving the IGPN for the benefit of a control committee comprising academics alongside police officers, by orienting police training on prevention and relational, and by creating a new code of ethics.

We want to fight crime and delinquency immediately and without concession, but we have other tools to offer, underlined Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

He finally insisted on the need to spot the money of trafficking and scams from bank flows and to fight financial crimes
