Need Games (CEO Lim Myung-hoon) announced on the 16th that it will release an interview video with the developer of dark fantasy action RPG ‘Dark December’.
This video is centered around actual game play scenes along with interview scenes from the developers, and was produced so that users can directly check the flow of battle, operation method, personality of each class, and production direction.
In the released video, development producer Park Jin-wook emphasized that ‘Dark December’ is a work designed with a focus on the controllability of battle and the immersion of growth.
It was mentioned that the goal was to create a structure where the player selects skills according to the situation, responds to patterns, and directly creates the flow of battle.
He said that the system was developed in a way that clearly conveys the ‘fun of the action itself’ by eliminating systems that place excessive burden.
Kim Deok-young, head of the planning team, explained that this prequel is not a simple expansion of the existing worldview, but a work that provides an important basis for understanding the events in ‘Undecember’.
The gods’ plan, the Syrian people born in the process, and various truths hinted at in the previous work are revealed through this story, and players will experience the puzzle of a world that has been fragmented for the first time in an integrated manner.
The battle system has been reorganized into free camera-based real-time action.
Variables in manipulation such as skill timing, distance management, and battle flow control have increased, and in this video, in-game battle scenes of three classes were also revealed: Berserker, who emphasizes strong blows and close-range pressure, Raven, who uses mobility and precision shooting, and Morgana, who coordinates battles by combining poison, fire, and summoning.
In the interview, the development team also shared the direction of the optional charging structure.
It was revealed that charging elements are centered on appearance and convenience, and that some of the elements directly related to character performance are designed to be naturally created and acquired through play to minimize burden.
‘Dark December’ is a cross-platform prequel dark action RPG that depicts the conflict between gods and the origin of the world in a new setting set in an era before Niz Games’ representative work ‘Undecember’.
As a Syrian who appeared at the beginning of chaos, the player traces the plan left behind by the twelve gods and the meaning of the power given to him, and experiences a journey to survive in the chaos.
‘Dark December’, which is currently undergoing pre-registration, will provide costumes, pets, limited titles, and abundant in-game packages to all participants.
