Since the corona virus outbreak, hand sanitizer has become one of the most sought after products on the market. In fact, hand sanitizer products have even become rare and expensive.

Hand sanitizer products, aka hand sanitizers without water, are now mandatory items that have to be taken anywhere to keep hands clean from germs.

Even so, Aaron E Glatt, a spokesman for the Infectious Diseases Society of America, assessed that hand sanitizers cannot prevent infections caused by C difficile bacteria that trigger inflammation in the large intestine.

In line with Glatt, Brian Sansoni, a spokesman for the American Cleaning Institute, also thinks that hand sanitizers are only supplements, not to replace the function of washing hands with soap.

Generally, hand sanitizers consist of alcohol, for example ethanol, as an active substance that works as an antiseptic. Other ingredients are water, fragrance, and glycerin.
