DACIA Logan, the “slowest car”, finished in the top 100 at the Nurburgring. Spectator favorite

A Dacia Logan has gone down in history. He finished in the top 100 of the famous 24-hour race at the Nurburgring and set a record in the so-called “Green Hell”. Although the organizers labeled it as “the slowest car” even before the start, Dacia was preferred by spectators.

At the wheel of the Romanian model was Misha Charoudin. The driver of Team SwiftWing.de was born in Russia, grew up in the Netherlands and now lives in Germany, not far from the famous circuit. His car was modified by Ollis Garage and now has 165 horsepower. For the 24-hour race at the Nurburgring, Logan was wearing Dunlop Direzza tires.

Misha also got the best time for his team: 11 minutes and 49 seconds. And, as no Romanian car has been in the 24-hour race at the Nurburgring, the driver also boasts a historical record for Dacia Logan.

Dacia was on the 98th place after a total of 41 laps. Faster than a Porsche Cayman. And obviously better than 22 cars that didn’t finish the race.

The camera installed in the cab shows how, in a straight line, the modified Logan reaches 192 km / h. Misha bravely but responsibly tackles tight turns and level differences. It makes room for much faster pilots who want to set significantly higher times. Models like Mercedes-AMG GT3, Audi E-Tron GT in RS version, Lamborghini Huracan GT3 are just some of the cars lined up at the start.

The goal of Misha and her team was to finish the race without taking unnecessary risks, writes promotor.ro.

“The slowest car”

“The slowest car on the Nurburgring” is the title of a video posted on the circuit’s YouTube channel. So slow, Dacia Logan finished in 4th place in its class, SP3, in which two more Toyota Corolla, a Toyota GT86 Cup and an Opel Manta were entered. The latter did not finish the race.

“Sabine (no. Schmitz) would have gone faster with a van,” many wrote. In fact, he did so by covering the same distance in 10 minutes and 8 seconds at the wheel of a 2005 Ford Transit.

Misha does not have the experience or the record of Sabine Schmitz (1969-2021). But he also has about 5,000 laps of the Nurburgring. And these days, he lived a historic moment with Dacia Logan, a curiosity that gained a fantastic popularity at the Nurburgring. Everyone loves outsiders.
