Covid: Erdogan announces new restrictions, curfew restrictions will be applied on weekends in 58 high-risk provinces

The Presidential Cabinet has decided on new measures against the coronavirus epidemic. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the decisions at the press conference he held after the Cabinet meeting.

Stating that the number of provinces identified as very high-risk and shown in red on the risk map increased to 58, Erdogan said that these provinces constitute 80 percent of the population and that “sacrifices will be required” in the month of Ramadan.

According to the decisions announced by Erdoğan,

  • All restrictions on leaving the street in the evening 21:00 Turkey will continue every day of the week and 5:00 in the morning.
  • In provinces in the red category (very high risk), the curfew restrictions applied only on Sunday will now continue on Saturday and Sunday.
  • In the orange category (high risk) provinces, the curfew will continue between 21.00 on Saturday and 05.00 on Monday.
  • all weekend in Turkey during Ramadan curfew restrictions will be applied.

Restaurants and cafes

Restaurants and 50 percent of businesses in all parts of Turkey without distinction as to color and cafes capacity to operate in accordance with the established rules. Only services businesses like restaurants and coffee shops across Turkey during Ramadan will be limited to takeaways.
