Cagliari is set to be the focal point of Joint Stars 2025,a large-scale,national interforce exercise orchestrated by the Operational Command of Interforze Summit (COVI). This exercise represents a collaborative effort, uniting all branches of the Italian armed forces alongside state agencies and armed bodies. Beyond its primary function as a training ground for military personnel,Joint Stars 2025 incorporates a robust series of charitable initiatives designed to engage local institutions,residents,businesses,and Sardinian volunteer organizations.

“Joint Stars for Charity”: A Symbiotic Relationship

The “Joint Stars for Charity” project runs parallel to the military exercises, fostering a spirit of community engagement and support. This initiative aims to leave a lasting positive impact on Cagliari and its surrounding areas. The project is under the patronage of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia and the Municipality of Cagliari, and is made possible through the support of companies such as Terna Driving Energy, Amazon, Barilla, Medea, Leonardo, Mbda, Reale Foundation, Unicredit, Conad, RWM Italia, Grimaldi Foundation and Poste Italiane.

Weekend of Events: Health, Music, and Community

The core events are scheduled for saturday, May 10th, and Sunday, May 11th, offering a diverse range of activities for the public.

Free Health Screenings Aboard the Trieste Ship

On Saturday morning,the Trieste ship,docked at the “Rinascita” pier,will host free health screenings for children,conducted by military doctors,nurses,and ASL personnel.This initiative aims to provide accessible healthcare services to the local community.

Interforce Band Concert: A Night of Music for a Cause

Saturday evening will feature a concert by the Interforce Band aboard the Trieste ship. The concert will serve as a fundraiser to purchase two specialized beds for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the Arnas “G. Brotzu” Hospital in Cagliari.This event combines artistic expression with a tangible contribution to pediatric healthcare.

“IX Karalis 10” Running Event: Running Together Against Pain

Sunday morning will see the “IX Karalis 10” running event,organized by the Onlus Association “together against pain” and ASD nuova atletica Sardegna. This event promotes physical activity and raises awareness for pain management and support.

Culinary Delights and Local Products

The “Ichnusa” pier will offer attendees the opportunity to purchase tickets for a “pasta party,” featuring dishes prepared by military cooks within the autonomous west maritime command. Coldiretti cagliari will also have stands selling agro-food products,with a portion of the proceeds going to charity. This initiative highlights local culinary traditions and supports regional agriculture.

Environmental Contribution: Mediterranean Scrub Plants for Citizens

The F.Re.Stas regional agency will distribute 1,500 Mediterranean scrub plants to citizens on Sunday afternoon. This initiative promotes environmental awareness and encourages the greening of urban spaces.

Musical Performance for Young Patients

Sunday will conclude with a performance of “Pierino and the wolf” at the San Michele dell’Arnas hospital “G. Brotzu,” specifically for young patients. Toys and educational materials will also be donated to the children, providing entertainment and support during their hospital stay.
