Left-wing MP Diether Dehm has been criticized for his high-profile vaccination in Russia. The Russian campaign for the Sputnik V vaccine aims to “weaken European institutions and democratic societies,” said the domestic political spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group, Konstantin Kuhle, to “Spiegel”. It is regrettable if Dehm gets caught up in Russian propaganda.

“If he does this at the expense of the German taxpayer, it is also misappropriating public funds.” Documents show that at the time of the vaccination with Sputnik V, Dehm was on a factional trip, i.e. traveling at state expense. According to the travel application, the five-day trip cost around 3,500 euros for Dehm and an interpreter.

This justified the trip with participation in the celebration of the 76th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany. No vaccination was mentioned. When asked, Dehm did not want to comment.
