The new season of Concerts of the Abbeys opens with 3 splendid concerts in Cellino Attanasio waiting to know all the appointments of the new edition in some of the most fascinating places in the Valley of the Abbeys between the Vomano and Mavone rivers that involve sites of interest of the local cultural, historical and architectural heritage such as the ‘Abbey of San Giovanni ad Insulam, those of Santa Maria di Ronzano, San Salvatore, Santa Maria di Propezzano and the abbey of San Clemente.
Concerti delle Abbazie is a jazz and classical music festival, inserted in the spiritual and cultural itinerary Valle delle Abbazie, which extends between the Vomano and Mavone valleys, in the province of Teramo. The setting is an area rich in history and natural beauty, such as the Gran Sasso d’Italia National Park together with the Cerreto nature reserve and the marine reserves of Cerrano and Borsacchio.
Over the years, Concerti delle Abbazie has also worked diligently to include new villages and cultural sites, managing to understand the Tordino valley and the places of the Terreverdi Teramane Tour.
In this evocative encounter between cultural and musical heritage, Concerti delle Abbeys presented in recent years a range of internationally renowned artists, both from the world of classical music, such as Francesco Di Rosa, first oboe soloist of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, the violinist Pavel Berman, the French Canadian pianist Louis Lortie and Gary Levinson, shoulder of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Abruzzese Symphony Orchestra, both of jazz such as Fabrizio Bosso, Max Ionata, Massimo Moriconi, Paolo Di Sabatino, Paul Wertico, Kelly Joyce and Nino Buonocore .
Starting from 2022, Concerts of the Abbeys offers Classical Abbeys and Abbeys Jazz Festival, a program of concerts around which other initiatives revolve such as Open Rehearsals, informal moments to get to know the backstage of the world of live entertainment, and as the Opening organized in collaboration with the conservatories of Abruzzo and in which young local talents alternate.
