Six Bergedorf cultural tips to get you started after the holidays

Bergedorf. After the end of the spring break, the culture in Bergedorfwith numerous events again. Live Music, dance, comedy – there is a lot going on in the district from Thursday to Sunday. Anyone who wants to escape everyday life and immerse themselves in the 30s to 50s is in the Lola That’s right: On Saturday, March 25th, the Shiny Stockings Big Band, founded in 1996, will be performing at Lohbrügger Landstraße 8 and, according to their own statements, playing world hits of swing and rock’n’roll. Admission is from 7.30 p.m., at 8 p.m. we start with a swing dance taster course.
The dance steps learned there can then be practiced all evening accompanied by live music and a DJ. The evening is intended to be a homage to the legendary Savoy Ballroom in New York, which was one of the most famous clubs of the swing era. Tickets cost 13.70 euros in advance and 15 euros at the box office.
Events in Bergedorf: Coastal rockers perform in the Klangbar
If you prefer something more maritime, you should make a detour to the Klangbar in the Suhrhof at Weidenbaumsweg 13-15 on Friday, March 24th. Coastal rockers “Nordward Ho” will be performing from 9 p.m., four genuine Holsteiners who have been touring the north together as a band since 2010. They describe their music as a mixture of “traditional shanty rock, a pinch of pirate rock and maritime-inspired songs”. Two of the band members went to sea, which makes the self-written songs authentic. Tickets are only available at the evening box office: admission costs 13 euros, admission is from 6.30 p.m.
There is a special event for all literature lovers and Hitchcock fans on Sunday, March 26th: Jens Wawrczeck comes to the Lichtwarktheater with his one-man radio play “Hitch und Ich – Die Vögel”. The actor, singer and voice actor became known for his role as detective Peter Shaw in the radio play series “The Three ???”. Wawrczeck is now presenting his literary and musical homage to Alfred Hitchcock, taking a look at the literature behind the film. There are still tickets that can be bought in the Bergedorfer Zeitung ticket shop, at the box office in the Lichtwarktheater or online. Depending on the seat category, they cost between 20 and 39 euros.
Amy Winehouse cover band plays in the food lounge
Guests do not have to pay admission to the food lounge at Bergedorfer Straße 135. The Amy Project, an Amy Winehouse cover band, will be performing here on Saturday, March 25th at 8 p.m. And because listening often makes you hungry, you can also order pizza, burgers and the like.
On Thursday, March 23, the US Rails want to prove that concerts can be memorable evenings, not just on weekends. The four Americans are on tour with new songs – the Hamburg concert was originally planned for 2020, then Corona threw a spanner in the works for the musicians. Now they are performing in Bergedorf: visitors can expect down-to-earth rock ‘n’ roll. Admission is from 7 p.m., the concert starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are available for 20 euros at the evening box office, at the Schumacher box office or at the ticket shop of our newspaper.
Irish folk in the house “brügge” in Lohbrügge
The “Irish Afternoon with Larry Donlon” starts much earlier on Thursday, March 23, in the “Brugge” building at Leuschnerstraße 86. From 3 to 5 p.m., the native Irishman will appear in the Literature and Music Café and play Irish folk the 60s and 70s.
