October 6 and 13, 2021, Irina Mataeva, Sergey Romanov and the original concert program “Memento mori”, at the Sheremetev Palace – Museum of Music.
In a programme:
October 6 at 19:00 the Armory Hall will host an evening of romances performed by the Mariinsky Theater soloists Irina Mataeva (soprano) and Sergei Romanov (baritone) “Charge me, charuy!” The renowned soloists of the Mariinsky Theater perform together not only on the largest opera stages in the world. In the Sheremetev Palace – Museum of Music, they will give a unique concert-monograph composed of romances by M.I.Glinka and A.S. Dargomyzhsky. The charming romances of the first half of the 19th century, familiar to many from childhood, immerse listeners in the era of St. Petersburg music salons, which served as creative laboratories and concert stage for famous musicians and the enlightened public of Pushkin’s times. The concert will be accompanied by an excursion-story “musical salons of the counts Sheremetevs”.
October 13 at 19:00 Sheremetev Palace – Museum of Music and the IHOS Amsterdam Foundation present the original concert program “Memento mori” to the St. Petersburg public. In it, the “new simplicity” of the classics of contemporary music Arvo Pärt and Valentin Silvestrov and the “new multiculturalism” of Wim Henderiks and Konstantinos Koukias meet face to face. The Sheremetev Palace will host Russian premieres of works by two authors.
