Detmold. Until November 20th there will be a series of three concerts, two musical Vespers and lectures under the theme “unfinished – finished” in the Christ Church in Detmold. “After a good two years, this is the first comprehensive series of major concerts with thematic references in the Christ Church. We want to approach the topic both in an artistic and in a theological sense,” explains cantor Burkhard Geweke in a press release.
Song recital to start
The program begins on Sunday, September 25 at 6 p.m. with a song recital with works by Gustav Mahler, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Marius Felix Lange and Johannes Brahms. The performers are Dorothee Bienert (mezzo-soprano), Sungwon Lee (piano) and Arisa Ishibashi (organ). Admission is 15 euros, concessions 10 euros.
On Wednesday, September 28, at 7 p.m., Pastor Maik Fleck will read “Life as a Fragment: 1 Corinthians 13” as a short literary text. The parish invites you to the musical Vespers on Sunday, October 2nd at 5 p.m. The dance project Resi Dance of the Peter Gläsel Foundation will perform. The sermon will be held by Pastor Stefan Wolf. The Georg Rox Trio will present a jazz concert on Sunday, October 30th at 6 p.m. The second musical Vespers is on the program on Sunday, November 6, at 5 p.m. Yi-Wen Lai will perform organ music in fragments by Johann Sebastian Bach and others. Pastor Maik Fleck preaches.
Oratorio concert at the end
The concluding oratorio concert begins on Sunday, November 20 at 6 p.m. Friederike Webel (soprano), Sarah Romberger (alto), Nils Giebelhausen (tenor), Hildebrand Haake (bass), Gregor van den Boom (violin) and the choir of the Christ Church Detmold present works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, Heinrich Schütz and Johannes Brahms. Burkhard Geweke is in charge.
