Concert in the church: tribute to Gilles Vitale

The municipality organizes a concert in tribute to one of its inhabitants, who died last year: Gilles Vitale. Well known to music-loving audiences in Roussillon, this tenor has performed famous works by Mozart and Haydn locally: Requiem, Creation and Stabat Mater. For years, this musician from the choirs of Radio France has been one of the most beautiful artistic moments of the cathedral of Perpignan and regional scenes and festivals, under the direction of Daniel Tosi, accompanied by the Perpignan Catalonia orchestra or the Camerata de France. .

Shortly before his death, with Daniel Tosi and his instrumental ensemble, he had given to hear in the church of his village superb spiritual tunes of the Jewish, Orthodox, Muslim and Christian faiths.

Ce Sunday May 14 at 4:30 p.m., the concert to be given in this same church will honor his memory, remaining faithful to his spirit and his desire to democratize divine art. The composer in the spotlight will be Vivaldi, with concertos for strings and for mandolin, followed by his Magnificat, with string ensemble, soloist and choral ensemble. An excerpt from Mozart’s Mass for the Holy Trinity will also be performed.

Will be present: the orchestra of Perpignan-Catalonia, conducted by Daniel Tosi, the Polyphonic Ensemble of Perpignan, conducted by Mireille Morbelli, the soloists Gisèle Vacher, soprano and Maribel Bagnouls, mandolin.

Entrance fee: €10.
