Chris Masters Ponders WWE Return in ‘Rewind Relive Recap’ Interview
During a recent Rewind Relive Recap podcast interview, Chris Masters, a 42-year-old WWE veteran, shared his thoughts on a possible return to the legendary wrestling company. While the 21-time tag team champion expressed a desire to step back into the ring, he acknowledged the difficulties in finding the right opportunity.
Masters Fans Express Hope, But He Downplays Immediate Reunion Chances
In the podcast, Masters was asked if he would consider a comeback and revealed he had been working on that goal. Before his WWE tenure, Masters had brief experience with NWA. He found that time beneficial, granting him a new platform to demonstrate his skills.
“I’d like to, man, I’ve tried to work for that. I was with NWA for a minute, and that gave me kind of a good, at least, platform to show what I can do,” Masters remarked.
However, he admitted it is challenging to find a chance to showcase his abilities amidst the current wrestling landscape. “But it’s tough, man, because I look around the landscape now and I just, I don’t know where that opportunity is going to come from.”
Wrestling and Adversity: A Love-Hate Relationship
Masters has experienced the rollercoaster of a wrestling career and his relationship with the industry is complex. In some moments, he feels a deep attachment and passion, while at other times, he feels disconnected and unwelcome.
“It’s just one of those things where wrestling can be…the career of a wrestler goes through a lot where, in terms of, it’s a love-hate relationship. You love it sometimes, but sometimes you don’t feel like it’s loving you back,” he explained.
Despite the ups and downs, he has fallen back in love with the sport. Nevertheless, he feels that wrestling is not reciprocating his feelings towards it. “I’ve definitely fallen back in love with wrestling. But I’ve gotten to the point to now where I just don’t feel like it’s loving me back.”
Self-Assessment and Future Outlook
Masters believes he is still competitive and capable of delivering high-quality performances if given a chance. “I definitely feel like my ability is better than it’s ever been. If given the opportunity, I could do something.”
While he holds onto the hope of a comeback, he also recognizes the uncertainty of such an opportunity. “But the question is [if] that opportunity’s going to come and if it is, who’s it going to come from? I just, I don’t know.”
Conclusion: A Career’s Reflection
In the end, Masters’ desire to return to WWE reflects his deep roots in the wrestling world. However, the contemporary wrestling industry presents significant challenges, forcing him to reassess his future within the sport.
This interview showcases more than just a wrestler’s thoughts on his career. It’s a gripping reflection of the struggles and triumphs in the life of a professional athlete.
