Chile reaches the second worst day of the pandemic

The Ministry of Health delivered this day a new balance on the evolution of covid-19, totaling 8,680 in the last 24 hours, of which 5,900 manifested some symptoms, while 2,238 were asymptomatic and 542 PCR tests were not notified.

These figures come in the midst of the controversy maintained by the Government and specialist medical organizations over the operation and supervision of the mobility pass.

This government initiative began to take effect this week, which has increased the movement of people in the cities.

The total number of infected since the onset of the disease in Chile reached 1,361,381 cases. Of these, 43,793 are active, that is, they are capable of spreading the virus, while the statistics of recovered reached 1,287,804.

Likewise, 119 new deaths were reported from causes associated with the coronavirus, once again exceeding one hundred deaths in just one day and making a total of 28,928 deaths from the disease nationwide.

Regarding the hospital network, it was noted that to date 3,067 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 2,540 are connected to mechanical ventilation, which leaves 207 critical beds available throughout the healthcare network for those who require it.

In addition, it was noted that yesterday the results of 72,575 PCR tests were reported, reaching a total of 14,601,545 analyzed in the national territory to date. Meanwhile, the positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level was 10.71%, while in the Metropolitan Region it was 13%.
