Most biologists agree that eggs come first before the chicken. At the basic level, eggs were initially only female cells. The hard shell from the egg then becomes the evolution of these creatures in breeding.
“Eggs are an important step in evolution (vertebrates), because it allows amnion (amniotic) to go further away from water,” said Koen Stein, a paleontologist at the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences, to Live Science.
Before the egg has a hard shell, vertebrates must depend on water for reproduction. Most amphibians still face this limit, they need to keep their eggs moist in order to survive.

Nevertheless, scientists think the first shell eggs evolved long before that, about 325 million years ago, according to the University of Texas. That is, eggs are present long before the chicken.
Uniquely, the texture and characteristics of the first eggs are not the same as eggs in the current era. The first egg is believed to have a soft and rough texture.
However, when talking about modern chicken, the answer might be different.
Modern Chicken (Gallus gallus domesticus) is likely to evolve from the subspecies of red fowl chickens (Gallus gallus) about 50 million years ago. Humans who live in Southeast Asia first tamed this poultry between 1650 BC and 1250 BC, according to the 2022 research article published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
Trusted, the modern chicken that we know now experiences evolution from cross -breeding so that the new species chicken embryo develops in eggs before hatching. Then, after reaching adulthood, he continued offspring by laying eggs. If this is the case, modern chicken can be said to be there first rather than the chicken eggs. Because, the parent of modern chickens is a different species, namely red furious chickens.
The conclusion is, where is the chicken species in general and the eggs? The answer is still eggs. But, where do you know the modern chicken first and the eggs? The answer is modern chicken, because the mother’s ancestors are different chicken species.
