Charles Strouse Dies: ‘Annie’ & ‘Bye Bye Birdie’ Composer at 96

Charles Strouse, a decorated composer behind such a Broadway turn-Hollywood, hit musicals like “Annie” and “Bye bye Birdie”, died at home in New York on Thursday. He was 96.

The composer is known for its long -term number, such as “put on a happy face”, “tomorrow” and “these days” – his four children – Benjamin, Nicholas, Nicholas, Victoria and William Strub, who announced his departure. He was previously occupied by his wife and choreographer Barbara Siman, with whom he married in 1962, in 2023.

During the seven decades, the entertainment industry stand for their work has been awarded the coveted Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award. The additional Broadway musicals he created outside “Bye Birdie” and “Annie” are Tony Awards “Applause“, “Golden Boy”, “Charlie & Algernon”, “Rupat” and “Nick & Nora”, most of whom were in common with his long -standing Lyricic and writing partner Lee Adam.
