Official disputes Account of Bus Incident in Altos Mirandinos

JosΓ© Goncalves, representing the Transportation Front, refutes claims that a dispute between a bus driver and a disabled passenger was fare-related, citing weather conditions as the cause.

A representative for the Transportation Front of the Altos Mirandinos region, JosΓ© Goncalves, has denied that a recent incident involving a bus from the El Paso line and a passenger with disabilities stemmed from a fare dispute.

According to Goncalves, the account provided by the bus line’s president paints a different picture. “According to the facts provided by the president of the line, the events occurred in another way. The unit left the center of the Teques and at that time it was not raining, but when it was heading to Colinas de El Paso, a can of water began to fall and the vehicle could not climb to the neighborhood as it would have difficulties when you go down, it would be stuck,” he stated.

Goncalves added that local residents are accustomed to such situations during rainfall. Buses can only reach certain points, a practice reportedly agreed upon by both drivers and the community.
