In a touching Instagram post, Carl and Aisling Mullan extended their family with the birth of Béibhínn, the latest addition to make their home a family of five.
“Another beautiful little girl who joined us last week,” Carl wrote. “Both she and her Mam are doing great,” he added, sharing a black and white photo of the newborn nestled in her mother’s arms.
“We’ve spent the last few days adjusting to life as a family of five and coming to terms with the fact that we are both now officially outnumbered,” he shared with a laughing face emoji, illustrating their shared amazement with their expanding family.
Gratitude to the Medical Staff
Expressing deep gratitude, Carl dedicated a significant part of his post to the Holles Street Hospital staff who helped bring their baby girl safely into the world.
“We can’t thank the wonderful staff at Holles Street Hospital enough. Honest to God, they are angels on earth,” he stated, naming some of the staff members: Rebecca, Omar, Sophia, Bríd, Bianca, Trish, Katie, and Eugenia, along with others who they unfairly couldn’t recall by name.
“We are forever grateful to you for bringing our daughter safely into the world,” Carl concluded his gratitude section, emphasizing the care and support provided by the team.

Reflecting on his experience, Carl mentioned, “I often talk to people about the mourning of the loss of your old life. That’s probably the biggest thing I’ve had to try and figure out. You realise, oh, it’s gone. It is not coming back, I keep thinking it’s coming back – it’s not.”
