Advances in oncological therapy have improved patient survival, resulting in more patients living for long enough to develop cardiovascular events. Among these, acute coronary syndrome are the most serious and life-threatening, and their burden is expected to rise further as the population ages and cancer survival improves.1,2 Compared with the general population, patients with cancer have a higher incidence of acute coronary syndrome events, driven by shared cardiovascular risk factors, the prothrombotic and inflammatory effects of malignancy, and the vascular toxicity of several contemporary treatments.
