The former Minister of Sports, also president of the Grand Party, Malick Gakou decides on the candidacy of Me Augustin Senghor for the presidency of the Caf.
“I welcome the opportunity and relevance of the candidacy of the President of the FSF, Me Augustin Senghor, for the post of President of CAF. This candidacy could not be that of football, even less that of athletes. It must be that of the Senegalese people in their unity and cohesion to hoist the Senegalese flag in the firmament of continental sport.“Malick Gakou said in a note.
Set up a national committee
Augustin Senghor will face Ahmed Yahya (the Mauritanian), Patrice Motsepe (the South African), Jacques Anouma (the Ivorian) and the outgoing president Ahmad Ahmad. With that, Gakou takes good initiatives. “I call for the establishment of a National Committee for the success of this Senegalese candidacy! Personally, I will take the bond of my former colleagues Ministers of Sports, the Minister of Sports, Mr. Matar Ba, former Presidents of the FSF and all the goodwill to support this candidacy and give it the maximum chance of success.“.
