The most beautiful in the country? – eMTB-News.de

"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the prettiest in the country?" – once asked a fairytale queen. In the light of the all-new Cannondale Moterras, this idea shoots you straight because Cannondale has redesigned its Moterra and the popular E-MTB has donated a completely redesigned, beautifully designed carbon frame. In addition, the American premium manufacturer is launching the Habit NEO, a new e-trail bike with a ride of 130 mm. Both have the same characteristics as the beautiful, with smart details provided with carbon frame together with integrated 625er battery and Bosch Performance CX Gen4. Here are all the details of the Cannondale Moterra and the Habit NEO e-trail rocket.

Cannondale Moterra

Information and prices

Cannondale reworked the Moterra and introduces the 3rd evolutionary phase of the powerful e-mountain bike. While the first generation was still arguing about the design, the brand new Moterra has absolutely no reason to complain in our eyes. The design is beautiful, modern and dynamic, plus a paint job that – depending on the model variant – can score with stylish color accents. The new model rolls on large 29 "wheels and is limited to the hub width of the rear wheel to the 148 mm wide Boost standard and will no longer be supplied with an aluminum frame, but with a well-formed carbon frame. Only the seat and chain brackets remain made of aluminum The engine is based on the Bosch Performance CX Gen4, which is powered by a battery of up to 625 Wh. Very interesting is the detail that a huge brake disc has been developed on the front brake with Magura, which is a whopping Measures 220 mm in diameter.

Something special, but pretty cool: the SE model comes with a martial double bridge fork from RockShox, which offers 180 mm travel and should be very interesting for the bike park or the e-freerider.

geometry

The geometry has been completely renewed by the engineers and kinematics specialists of Cannondale. So the chain support is shortened by no less than seven mm to 450 mm compared to the previous model. The Reach, on the other hand, grew enormously and is now 470 mm (frame size L), which guarantees that you have enough space on this E-MTB to heat the mountain in full gas mode.

equipment

The Cannondale Moterra is available next season in four categories, ranging from € 4,999 to € 7,999 (RRP). The suspension in the SE variant is striking, because this model is equipped with a solid RockShox Boxxer double bridge fork and 180 mm suspension travel at the front and is more attractive to users of the bicycle park than the trail rider. Depending on the model, the Bosch Performance CX motor is powered by a fully integrated 625 or 500 Wh Bosch battery.

Cannondale Habit NEO

Information and prices

The Cannondale Development Center is located in Freiburg im Breisgau. All the Moterra or the motor-less 29er trail rocket Habit were developed here. Now the engineers have designed the E-Trailbike Habit NEO, which is largely based on the current, less MTB counterpart in design language and design, 140/130 mm travel speed, large 29 "wheels and is powered by the Bosch Performance CX The Bosch battery was in the lower tube, which – depending on the model – has a capacity of 500 or 625 Wh, is fully integrated and can be removed through a wide opening to the bottom. and we like it with its modern lines and a Cannondale-typical geometry that allows you to sit on the E-MTB and feel "at home" right away.

Engine and battery

Cannondale will continue to rely on engines from Germany in the 2020 season. The third generation Moterra and the brand new Habit NEO are equipped with the new Bosch Performance CX engine, which was unveiled in June 2019. With the revised Performance CX, Bosch is taking a big step in the right direction and probably even more market share. In addition to smart software updates, considerably better usable turbo mode and good modulation of the support levels, this powerful engine also has a lot of power, a maximum torque of 75 Nm, its very compact installation volume and a fantastic pedaling force of more than 25 km / hour . In addition, a Bosch battery with a capacity of 625 Wh will be available in the coming season, which Cannondale will install in both models.

Still confusion about this engine? In this article we answer the 10 most frequently asked questions about the Bosch Performance CX Gen4.

  • engine: Bosch Performance CX Gen4
  • battery: Bosch PowerTube 500 or 625
  • power: 250 watts

Here you will find more information about the current e-bike engines.

Opinion @ eMTB-News.de

Cannondale shows impressively with the newly designed Moterra and the brand new Habit NEO, what the current E-Trail bikes can and should look like today. The design and design are fresh and modern, the color scheme and the decor very attractive. Moreover, the equipment was chosen wisely and occupied attractive price points. Certainly, the Habit NEO, the e-trail rocket with moderate journeys, attracts buyers and convinces on the road next to the Moterra – which already has a large crowd. We look forward to extensive test runs with both new Cannondale models.

Do you like the brand new Cannondale Moterra as much as we do? And how do you like the Habit NEO in its striking colors?
