Primark plans to continue its seemingly unstoppable increase, announcing that due to strong sales, it plans to open another 18 stores this year.
The fast fashion chain said it had a “particularly good” November in November and December, as sales increased 4% over last year due to a “strong contribution” from its new stores.
As such, the expansion will continue.
“This sales growth was almost entirely due to the increase in sales space,” said the owner of the chain, Associated British Foods, in a statement.
“We now expect to add an additional net sales space of 0.9 million square feet in this financial year,” he added.
“We expect to open 18 new stores along with several relocations.”
And the expansion is not limited to the United Kingdom.
“As previously announced, we will enter the Polish market with a new store in Warsaw in the spring of 2020, followed by a store in Prague, Czech Republic,” Associated said.
“Now we have also signed leases for an additional store in Poland, in Poznan, and for our first store in Slovakia, in Bratislava, which will take Primark to its fifteenth country.”
