M. Bourita: Bouznika’s compromises confirm that the Libyans are capable of solving their problems without supervision or influence
Rabat – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita, underlined, Thursday in Bouznika, that the compromises resulting from the meetings of the two delegations of the Libyan High Council of State and the Parliament de Tobruk confirmed the Kingdom’s beliefs that Libyans are able to find solutions to their problems without oversight or influence as they are able to determine Libya’s interest and the way to serve it.
Speaking shortly before the reading of the final joint communiqué sanctioning the meetings of the two delegations within the framework of the Libyan dialogue, Mr. Bourita noted that the Kingdom has always been convinced – which was also confirmed during the meetings of Bouznika- that the High Council of State and the House of Representatives are the cornerstone for any progress on the way to find solutions to the questions concerning the Libyan crisis.
He also underlined that the important compromises reached by the two delegations and which concern the appointment to posts of sovereignty, are not a simple declaration of intentions or recommendations, but they are indeed compromises and concrete decisions at the subject of institutions and issues having a direct impact on the daily life of the Libyan people.
The minister also congratulated the two delegations on these compromises, believing that the institutions which are the subject of these decisions symbolize the unity of the State and that the unification of these institutions is an essential element of any future solution to the crisis in Libya. .
He also praised the positive climate and the spirit of brotherhood and responsibility that reigned during these meetings and where the interest of Libya and its people took precedence over any other consideration. He also welcomed the compromises “Which are auspicious and bring good news” to the Libyans.
In addition, Mr. Bourita expressed his thanks to all the countries and regional organizations which expressed their support for the Libyan dialogue in Bouznika and the efforts of the two delegations to reach compromises.
In the final joint communiqué sanctioning the Bouznika meetings, the two Libyan delegations announced that they had reached an overall agreement on the criteria and transparent and objective mechanisms for occupying the positions of sovereignty.
They also agreed to continue this dialogue and to resume meetings during the last week of this month in order to complete the necessary measures to ensure the application and activation of this agreement.
