Excellent start this Saturday in the 23rd edition of the Aguete Cruises Regatta that the Real Club de Mar Aguete is organizing in the Ría de Pontevedra with the collaboration and sponsorship of the official organizations and commercial firms Concello and Porto de Marín, Deputación de Pontevedra, Murimar Seguros, Ence, Grupo Nogar, Setga, Froiz and Carlin.
Punctual departure from 14:00 hours and mounted in front of the Loire beach, attached to the facilities of the organizing club, with which it could be observed by a large audience, with a southwest wind of 12 knots to carry out the Orc fleet a 17.1 miles route passing in front of Sanxenxo and Portonovo, turning the lighthouse towers of Picamillo and the Camoucos in front of the island of Ons and returning to Aguete before passing by the lighthouse of Mourisca in front of Bueu. The veteran Classics made a shorter 8-mile loop by turning only the lighthouse of La Mourisca.
Spectacular exit and very equal for all the line, standing out above the others the “Tap” that did it for the proximity of the pin. What at first seemed like a very sharp cross course, the southwest wind rolled northwest, turning the first part of the stage to the Picamillo lighthouse into a rabid girt with an average intensity of 20 knots. With these conditions, the “Magical” practically flew at the head of the fleet, especially already on courses with carrying winds, only followed from afar by the “Mirfak”, “Juancamaría 3” on an excellent beat and the “Bon III” maintaining the guy until the entrance to the estuary again, where he handled the stern with great speed while the “Magical” had a braking close to the goal because of a role that knocked the gennaker down. Hence, his victory in real time was not with sufficient advantage to beat in offset time the “Bon III”, Juancamaría 3 “and” Mirfak “ahead of him in that order.
The “Bon III” in this way won the stage, winning both in its class and in the absolute class, thus winning the Jaime Janer Corvette Captain Trophy
