Commissioner Yudiono stated that Bendi Wijaya had attempted to control his vehicle moments before the collision but was ultimately unable to do so. In his statement, Bendi explained that he had made “maximum efforts” to manage the vehicle, but ultimately had no choice but to jump out to avoid a worse outcome.

Bendi Wijaya was found to be medically fit following a thorough examination by doctors on February 12, 2025. The policemen also brought him in for a witness examination. According to Commissioner Yudiono, the decision to name Bendi as a suspect was based on detailed witness statements and CCTV footage from the scene.
