The official unveiling of the new Safety Car took place during the MotoGP™ Season Launch, which was held in the newly developed One Bangkok complex. The event commenced with a parade led by the BMW M5 Touring MotoGP™ Safety Car, followed by an engaging stage show. This event was streamed live for fans worldwide and was accessible to everyone on site.

BMW M’s Commitment to Racing and Innovation

BMW M has been the Official Car of MotoGP™ since 1999. The company’s partnership with MotoGP™ includes supplying a fleet of Safety Cars, Medical Cars, and Safety Bikes. The new Safety Car is based on the BMW M5 Touring, launched in November 2024. This model is the third current BMW M car featuring an M HYBRID powertrain. Its twin motors deliver a peak output of 535 kW (727 hp) and a maximum torque of 1,000 Nm, making it a formidable addition to the race track.

Safety and Style

To ensure optimal performance on the track, the BMW M5 Touring MotoGP™ Safety Car has undergone various modifications. The car’s livery draws inspiration from the BMW M Hybrid V8 race cars competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA series in North America.
