EDUCATION. The University of Quebec at Rimouski (UQAR) will offer a short undergraduate program in occupational health and safety in Beauce. Managers and professionals wishing to enrich their knowledge on administrative, legislative and social subjects related to health and safety in the workplace are particularly targeted by this new training.
The short program will consist of five courses, totaling 15 credits, and will be offered on a part-time basis. The first term, offered in the evening, will begin on September 12 if the required number of registrations is reached. The topics covered will touch on mental and psychological health in the workplace as well as the management of appropriate prevention techniques. “In view of new developments in the workplace, it is necessary, not to say imperative, to make managers aware of all the issues related to the prevention of health and safety at work,” says the science professor of UQAR management, Charles Côté. This short undergraduate program in occupational health and safety adds to the management training already available in the Beauceron region.
