Barbast. Three concerts at the theater for the music festival

As part of the 33rd Albret Music Festival, under the artistic direction of François Salque, three concerts will be offered at the Barbaste theater at 4:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. today.

On the program: piano triptych. Piano solo and four hands classical, jazz and Cuban music.

At 4.30 p.m.: Virgile Roche, laureate of the Ravel Academy. A pianist who plays both powerful and poetic, Virgile Roche has already won awards in numerous international competitions. With this concert, he first follows in the footsteps of two great composer-pianists: Frédéric Chopin and Sergei Prokofiev. Joined by Gaspard Thomas, he closes this program with the Fantasy in F minor by Franz Schubert, the peak of the composer’s expressive art.

Concert financed by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region.

At 6.30 p.m.: Gaspard Thomas, laureate of the Ravel Academy. Trained with the greatest masters at the Paris Conservatory, he is one of the rising stars of today’s piano. He dedicates this recital to two essential romantic composers, Franz Liszt and Franz Schubert.

At 8:30 p.m.: Harold Lopez Nussa. A classically trained pianist, he revives extraordinarily rich Cuban musical traditions, bringing them to life in a language that mixes classical and jazz punctuated by astonishing sound cascades.
