In terms of the table, there was nothing left for the three teams from Badminton Sportfreunde Neusatz-Bad Herrenalb, home team of top player Fabian Roth. Accordingly, the main focus this weekend was on having fun while playing the game.
The first team in the Baden-Württemberg League finally traveled to the top teams from Metzingen and Mössingen.
In Metzingen a point win was within reach, but in the end BSpfr narrowly had to admit defeat 3:5. The men’s doubles were particularly strong, as was Thomas Fertig’s singles, which he narrowly lost.

In the evening, Mössingen, the champion of the BW league, was waiting. There was little to be gained against the strong team, including Ukrainian players. Despite the defeat, the first can look back on a successful season and ended it in an excellent fourth place.
A special moment was the farewell to Thomas Fertig, who will be stepping down in the future after six intensive years in the Sportfreunde jersey.
Victory and defeat
The second team competed against their second and third teams in the Badenliga in Offenburg. The BSPfr narrowly had to admit defeat against the already confirmed promoted team with 3:5. Gleb Stepantsow was once again convincing, winning a high-class singles match over three sets.
Sensational balance of the season
Afterwards we played against the third team from Offenburg. Since both the women’s doubles and the women’s singles went to Neusatz without a fight, the team already started with a 2-0 lead. Patrick Röhrnbacher’s men stepped up and secured two more points with a 5:3 win. The “second team” ended the season sensationally in second place in the Baden League.
“Third” holds the class
The third team played their last district league matches in Bietigheim and with the league leaders and champions in Waghäusel. The aim was to give as many players as possible more playing time and to enjoy the match day.
In Bietigheim, Ann-Kathrin Kull and Dorian Guthmann scored the decisive point in the draw. As expected, the opponents of the league leaders in Waghäusel proved to be very strong. However, thanks to the convincing performances of the women and David Glinjanko, the result was narrow at 3:5. As a promoted team, the third team secured a strong fourth place.
An all-round successful season
The Sportfreunde Neusatz-Bad Herrenalb can look back on an all-round successful season. All three teams were able to assert themselves in their leagues and convince with strong performances. Fourth place in the BW league, the sensational second place of the second team and the third team’s successful relegation as promoted teams mark a strong club.
Now energy is being recharged
In addition to the sporting successes, the team spirit and the joy of badminton remain the club’s central strengths. With new motivation and fresh energy, we are now looking ahead to the coming season.
