A concert by Tsugaru shamisen player and folk song singer Takayuki Matsuda from Hachinohe City, “Yogakudo” was held at the Daily Tohoku Shimbun Media Hall in the city on the 6th. The powerful tone and laughter-inviting talk attracted 70 spectators.
Mr. Matsuda has achieved results in numerous competitions, including winning the championship for the third consecutive year at the 2002 Tsugaru Shamisen National Competition. He is also the representative of the folk song and shamisen classroom “Utai-do” in seven locations nationwide.
The concert consists of two parts. The first part started with “Aiya Tsugaru” and performed in collaboration with folk songs and shamisen by students from the city’s song hall.
In the second part, in addition to “Tsugaru Counting Song (Corona ver.)”, Which sang the world of Corona, the shakuhachi played “Dochu Makatabushi”, and the venue was wrapped in big applause.
