ASML Stock Boost & Trump Reassurance: AEX & Wall Street Rise

The AEX closes 1.2 percent higher.

The AEX closed with a nice profit after the heavy hit at the end of last week. The main indicator of the Amsterdam stock exchange is 1.2 percent higher at 951.83 points, after having fallen 1.9 percent on Friday. Investors recovered from the unrest surrounding a possible trade war between China and the United States. Fears flared up on Friday after President Donald Trump threatened to significantly increase import duties on Chinese products and cancel the planned meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
However, the US government announced at the weekend that it remained open to consultations with Beijing, and Trump also tried to calm emotions. “Don’t worry about China, everything will be fine!” he wrote on Truth Social on Sunday. That reassurance provided relief to the markets on Monday.

ASML leads the AEX with a profit of 3.7 percent. The chip machine maker benefits from a price target increase by investment bank Jefferies, which provided the advice keep maintained but became more positive about the prospects. ASML will release figures on Wednesday. Also ASMI is doing good business with a plus of 2.5 percent, while Iron 1.8 percent increase.

ArcelorMittal wint 3.1 percentsupported by optimism about the European Steel Action Plan and German plans for billions in infrastructure investments. KPN turns red for the main funds and delivers 0.7 percent in.

In the MidKap the builders close firmly higher. Heijmans increases 2.7 percent after winning an order for the construction of 234 apartments in Eindhoven, good for a turnover of 50 million euros. BAM wins 2.9 percent, while Arcadis Ends 1.9 percent higher after a price target increase from Jefferies.

Of AMX-index closes 1.3 percent higher, with a profit as well Openam (plus 2.2 percent) and AMG (Plus 3 Procent).

Onward Medical was one of the outliers on the Damrak, with a gain of 8.6%. The Eindhoven medtech company reported that it achieved more than 1 million euros in turnover for the first time in the third quarter with its therapies for people with spinal cord injuries.
