YAGUARÓN. The Department of Education, Culture and Tourism of the Municipality of Yaguarón, within the framework of the patronal feast of San Buenaventura, organized a cultural event for the elaboration of Paraguayan gastronomy, an exhibition of works by visual artists, cartoonists and local crafts.
The Director of Education, Culture and Tourism of the Municipality, Milciades Larrosa, explained that this event was held in order to provide a space for cultural artists and to honor the last potter in this district, Rosalina Robles.
He added that they are hopeful that at some point the national authorities will be able to recognize the artisan Robles as a Living National Treasure and thus enhance the local culture. Yesterday also the potter Robles turned 77 years old and with the ñai’ūpyū that she was preparing she shared the elaboration of the mbeju tova and chipa asador on the embers.
He said that independent entrepreneurs of the local gastronomy participated in the cultural day, offering different varieties of typical foods, the Association of Artisans and Plastic Artists and cartoonists of this district were also present.
He appreciated the support of the citizens who enjoyed music in an outdoor space and that it is an activity that they want to develop every Saturday, in such a way as to provide a distraction option and an opportunity to support culinary art entrepreneurs, plastic artists, draftsman and art workers.
