Arianna Orazi,who must serve a life sentence for the murder of her mother,Rosina Carsetti,has been arrested in Veneto,specifically in the Sacco di Piave. The Supreme Court of Cassation upheld the sentence, rejecting the defense’s appeal and confirming the Court of Appeal of Ancona’s decision.

According to the carabinieri’s reconstruction, the 53-year-old, a resident of the province of Pesaro, was attempting to flee, anticipating the unfavorable outcome following the Court of Cassation’s ruling. However, her lawyer, Olindo Dionisi, offered a different account, stating, “He was not running away, he wanted to go to constitute”.

Orazi was apprehended in the Sacco di Piave. After the ruling, authorities went to her Pesaro residence to execute the prison order but could not find her. A search, coordinated by the Regional Command of the Arma, led to her arrest in Veneto.

“He did not escape,” explained Olindo Dionisi. “Last night (the other, editor’s note) had gone to the prison of Bollate (Milan) to constitute himself, after learning about the sentence. But they did not arrest him, as the prison order had not yet been inserted.I activated myself to obtain the prison order.”

The circumstances surrounding Arianna’s presence in Veneto, over 260 kilometers from the Bollate prison, remain unclear. she was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of her 78-year-old mother, Rosina Carsetti, which occurred on Christmas Eve of 2020 in their Montecassiano villa.

The Court of Cassation also upheld the 27-year sentence against Orazi’s son and the victim’s grandson, Enea Simonetti, 25 years old. Additionally,Rosina’s husband,Enrico Orazi,82 years old,received a four-year and six-month sentence for mistreatment.

prosecutor General Roberto Rossi argued that the victim was stripped of her assets, including her house and car, and later murdered for resisting an atmosphere of harassment. On the evening of the murder, a call for help was made from the villa in Montecassiano, with Arianna Orazi telling the carabinieri that a stranger had entered the house while Enea was shopping, tied her and her father up, killed her mother, and stole money.

However,the carabinieri suspected the robbery was staged.
