1 – Why would you no longer be covered?
Multi-risk home insurance (MRH), which covers your main residence, includes an accommodation clause. It specifies that your guarantees work as long as you do not leave your home for a period of 30, 60 or 90 consecutive days, depending on the terms of your contract. If you do not comply with this condition and a claim occurs in your absence, your insurer may refuse to compensate you financially, or cover you only partially.
Admittedly, since the start of containment, burglaries have drastically decreased. But police statistics are based on the only complaints registered. You may therefore run the risk of finding your lock forced upon your return to your home. Same problem in case of water damage, the most common disaster especially in condominiums. If a leak has occurred in your home, or in one of your neighbors, it will get worse without intervention
