Portugal recorded in the last 24 hours a new increase in the number of people hospitalized with covid-19, 1,855 new infections and eight deaths, according to data from the Directorate-General for Health.
Today, 851 people are hospitalized, 46 more than on Sunday, and 181 are in intensive care units, where five more people were hospitalized in the last 24 hours.
According to the health authority, Portugal now has 52,236 active cases (more 465), having recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours over 1,382 people, which increases to 863,089 the number of recovered since the beginning of the pandemic.
The number of contacts under surveillance is 79,883, plus 173 in the last 24 hours.
