Technical director Alex Kroes receives a consultant at Ajax who will look at the coming transfer policy in particular. NOS football journalist Arno Vermeulen reports this Studio Football. He cannot bring the name out: “It’s someone from outside the club”.
According to Vermeulen, there are doubts within Ajax about Kroes’ transfer policy, technical director at Ajax since April 2024. “They say about Kroes: he is a remediationer, but not a builder.”
“That is also apparent from the selection,” Vermeulen continues. “He is a businessman, has taken many players away, but they think he does not have the qualities to build a selection.”

Trainer John Heitinga would not have to fear for his position for the time being. There is, however, a change or addition of the technical staff coming. Heitinga said this on Saturday after the game with Sparta Rotterdam (3-3).
Recently Ajax made an attempt in vain Thomas Duivenvoorden, former coach of Quick Boys and now assistant at De Graafschap, to catch it.
“We’re going to see if a staff member will be added,” said Heitinga. “This is a great time to make that negotiable and to revise the division of tasks. A few extra hands is good to remove things that I am now doing myself, such as the field training, completion forms, things like that. You can also leave that to others.”
