Air India Express Divided, Passengers Screaming and Falling …



NEW DELHI – Flight Air India Express carrier 191 people fell into the valley and split in two after slipping on landing at Kerala’s Kozhikode airport. A total of 17 people, including the pilot and co-pilot, died and 173 others were injured.

The plane flew from Dubai, United Arab Emirates and landed at Kozhikode airport Kerala, India. This incident occurred on Friday (7/8/2020) evening India time in heavy rain at the airport.

The survivors recounted the dire last minutes before the plane crashed in Kozhikode.

“There was a loud noise and we got back on board,” Shahina, a mother of four who survived the Air India Express plane crash, told AFP Gulf News by phone, which was launched on Saturday (8/8/2020). (Read: Air India Plane Killed So 17, Including Pilot and Co Pilot)

Shahina and her children Ziyan, 14, Zeya, 10 and seven-year-old twins Zain and Zamil, who returned to India after visiting her husband Anshad in Sharjah, miraculously escaped the deadly accident. They suffered minor injuries.

Speaking briefly by telephone from Aster MIMS Hospital in Kozhikode, Shahina recounted the terrible moments of the Vande Bharat Mission plane crash, the government’s mission to repatriate Indians stranded abroad due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to Shahina, everything was normal until flights started descending. “Suddenly there was a loud sound and we went up again,” said Shahina.

He said the passengers were crying and screaming. When the flight jolted, he said, the passengers fell from their seats.
