British Prince Harry and his wife, Megan Markle, have filed a lawsuit in California, USA, against celebrity photojournalists who accused them of “illegally” taking pictures of their son Archie.
The lawsuit, filed before the California State Supreme Court in Los Angeles County, referred to a “series of violations” of the privacy of the 14-month-old.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are filing this lawsuit to protect the privacy of their child in their home without the intrusion of the paparazzi, and to expose and deter those seeking to profit from these unlawful acts,” said a statement issued by the lawyer of the grandson of the Queen of Britain and his wife.
The lawsuit also stated that drones and helicopters circled over the couple’s home in violation of privacy.
The lawsuit said the couple did not want “any special treatment”, and only demanded the right to privacy in their home as guaranteed by laws in California.
Harry and Meghan now live in Los Angeles, after they gave up their royal duties, at the end of March.
And they moved to live outside Britain, after their differences with the media because of the extensive coverage of their private lives.
