From June 22, 2022 to January 2, 2023, “A Second of Eternity” questions time through some of the works from the Pinault Collection at the Bourse de Commerce, located in the Halles district of Paris.
For this second part of the year 2022, it is with A Second of Eternity that the Bourse de Commerce gives pride of place to time. Bringing together works by artists such as Nina Canell, Miriam Cahn or even Felix Gonzalez-Torres and Wolfgang Tillmans, from the Pinault Collection, the exhibition focuses on the intensity of the present and the presence of bodies, caught in the vice fleetingness or the suspended moment.
Borrowed from Marcel Broodthaers, the title of the exhibition refers to one of the works of the Belgian artist, namely a short film from 1971 in which he appears furtively through his signature. It is also a reference to Charles Baudelaire and his desire to capture “in a second the infinity of his enjoyment”.
To accompany the inauguration of this exhibition, the drafting of the Unbreakable offers you a playlist produced in collaboration, like a contemplative soundtrack reflecting these questions about time. It is therefore an opportunity to (re)discover, among others, Suicide, the American group of the iconic Alan Vega, Arca and its jewel KICK ii released last year or even Lonely Guest, the Tricky collective bringing together Joe Talbot from IDLES, Paul Smith from Maxïmo Park and Marta, here remixed by the Mancunians from Space Afrika. But also Jake Muir, Hydroplane, Arto Lindsay, EXEK and many others!
