Motagua An important match is played against Cartaginés. On Tuesday the series begins that will define whether or not he will be in the Champions Cup of Concacaf 2026.
In the last editions of the tournament, Azul Profundo has been the only one from Honduras that has qualified, but now those who already have a ticket are Olympiad y Royal Spain.
Motagua has to achieve it before Carthaginianthe team against which Javier López debuted when he arrived to replace Diego Vazquez.
“I remember that game well, it was my first game as coach of Motagua, I had been training for two days and we have now been training together with the group for more than 60 days,” he began by saying.
And he added: “Some players could not play it on our part as part of them (Cartaginés) there are some modifications in the squads or players available for this match and it changes that we come from two important blows.”
Javier López warns his players

López not only does he want to classify eliminated Carthaginianbut also remembers the important prize that Motagua is at stake.
“Entering a competition even more competitive than the Central American Cup such as the Champions Cup, we want to be there, we want to be in a competition of that demand and we want the club to obtain that financial prize.”
He continued sending messages to the Motagua players
“We have been doing many things well for 90 minutes and we have been making some mistakes. In the first 90 minutes we have many successes and in the final minutes we have been making mistakes that are not leading to receiving a goal.”
And he closed: “We are seeing how we solve it, because when you send that instruction to the brain it always finds formulas to identify and resolve these types of situations, we are trying to improve those final minutes.”
Motagua visit to Carthaginian on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. in the first leg of the Central American Cup playoffs.
