Ancona authorities have issued an emergency restraining order against a 65-year-old Italian woman following a violent altercation with her former partner. according to police reports,the couple,both Italian nationals,had met through an online dating site approximately five years prior.Their relationship, however, soured after only a few months, reportedly due to the woman’s jealousy. Even after the breakup, she allegedly continued to harass her ex-boyfriend with persistent messages, calls, and unwanted appearances.

The situation escalated when the woman allegedly confronted the 60-year-old man, striking him with a rolling pin she had brought with her. Police officers responding to the scene also discovered a kitchen knife in her possession, leading to her immediate denouncement. This incident underscores the potential dangers of post-relationship harassment and the importance of intervention by law enforcement.

Senigallia Boat Thefts Uncovered

In a separate investigation, Ancona’s mobile police unit has charged a 58-year-old local man with aggravated and continuous theft. The suspect is accused of stealing items from boat owners in the vicinity of the Senigallia port. The man himself is reportedly a boat owner and user.

A search of the suspect’s residence,authorized by the Public Prosecutor of Ancona,yielded a significant amount of stolen property. Recovered items included outboard marine engines (estimated value of €400 each),wooden oars (€100 per pair),brass oar supports (€50 per pair),fuel tanks (six in total),anchors,nautical ropes,and road signs. All recovered materials have been seized as evidence.

The investigation highlights the vulnerability of maritime assets to theft and the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat such crimes. The recovery of stolen goods provides some relief to the affected boat owners.

Increased Police Presence in Ancona City center

Over the weekend, local police conducted increased patrols in Ancona’s city center, specifically targeting corso Garibaldi, Piazza Cavour, and Piazza Roma. These operations,directed by the Quaestor and the Prefecture,resulted in the identification of 71 individuals,16 of whom had prior criminal records. Additionally, 33 vehicles were inspected.

During these checks, a 34-year-old italian man with a prior drug-related conviction was apprehended. he was found to be in violation of a previously issued order barring him from returning to the city for four years due to his history of drug dealing. Despite the ban, police located him in the city center.This incident underscores the challenges of enforcing preventative measures and the persistence of drug-related issues in urban areas.
