The Bonghwa-gun Education Development Committee convened a regular general meeting recently, attended by key figures including Park Hyun-guk, to solidify plans for expanded scholarship opportunities and educational initiatives.

During the assembly, the committee meticulously reviewed and approved critical proposals, including the 2024 performance review, the 2025 business plan (with revisions), and the proposed budget. These decisions underscore Bonghwa-gun’s proactive approach to investing in its students’ futures.
scholarship Expansion: Removing Barriers to Access
Recognizing the importance of accessibility,the bonghwa-gun Education Development Committee has broadened the scope and value of its scholarship programs.By easing eligibility criteria, the committee aims to ensure that more students can benefit from financial assistance, fostering a more inclusive educational environment.This move aligns with the growing need for financial aid, as the average cost of tuition and fees at private colleges was $41,570 in the 2022-2023 school year

this year marks the introduction of bi-annual scholarship disbursements across six categories,including entrance and academic excellence awards. Furthermore,the committee is investing in enriching experiences such as overseas field trips for Unification Golden Bell winners and cultural immersion programs with Bonghwa-gun’s International Sister City Youth. These initiatives are designed to broaden students’ horizons and cultivate a global outlook.
